Conjoined Series

The Conjoined Series has recently been released.  There are 4 projects in the series that can be used separately or in conjoined configurations:
  • InterPi - Aimed principally at making the RasPi compatible with Arduino and other 5V systems, InterPi is designed for use with or without conjoined (0, 1 or 2) companion units.  InterPi adapts the RasPi's GPIO signals and extends a pair of rigorous I2C bus segments (3.3 and 5V) that are coupled transparently via bidirectional level shifting circuits for uncompromised speed and reliability.  There is also support for UART and SPI bus operating at 5V and/or 3.3V and for easy fitting of a clock (Tiny RTC) module.  Click here for more information.
  • InterHub - Provides wiring distribution and connectivity solutions for accessing the extensive range of Seeed Studio's Grove units via analog, digital or I2C bus connectors. InterHub has dual I2C bus hubs to provide full support for InterPi's high integrity I2C bus architecture.  Click here for more information.
  • InterSPi - Extending robust support for real-world 5V and 3.3V interfaces, InterSPi uses an MCP23S17 IC with 8 Darlington drivers and an SPI bus interface.  InterSPi can be conjoined with MegaWire, InterHub and/or InterPi.  Click here for more information.
  • MegaWire - With support for Grove and Quick2Wire connection schemes, MegaWire ATmega168/328 units can connect to RasPi via UART, I2C and/or SPI buses.  MegaWire can be used in standalone applications or conjoined with InterSPi, InterHub and/or InterPi.  Click here for more information.

Photos, design documentation and cocktail files have already been placed on the Internet.

Although being designed with conjoined use in mind, the projects offer plenty of features when used separately.  A separated InterPi unit is pictured above bristling with 5V and 3.3V connectivity solutions and with a clock module (Tiny RTC) fitted.
